Neutrals Theme Pack

Description
Geared towards improved legibility, the Neutrals theme pack includes three themes which make use of subtler tones and consistent fonts to provide a cleaner Bento work environment. The themes are:

  • Neutral – light gray with subtle darker highlights
  • Shade – darker charcoals
  • Chlorine – clean and bright

In addition, each theme is available either in its original version or in a new VR version where the font size increments are not as dramatic.

Installation Notes
Unzip the file and double-click Neutral.ThemePack. Bento 2 will open and install the three themes under a new Neutral category in the Theme Chooser.

Note to previous Neutral users: You should delete the Neutral folder from USERNAME>Library>Application Support>Bento>Themes PRIOR TO INSTALLING the new bundle.

Thank you so much! It’s really satisfaction for the eyes. I love Bento, because it’s easy to get fast progress and it’s fun, but the themes… $%@!

    I like it :-)

    Hi Simon,
Any concern needed that using this could damage the bento database or program?
    Thanks,
    Hank

Hi Hank. I’m obviously not going to guarantee anything in this litigious world but I think that it’s safe. The application itself is not changed by the theme and if anything went wrong then you can always simply download a new copy. Regarding the bento.bentodb data file, obviously this should be backed up regularly anyway but as far as I can tell, if a theme goes wrong then Bento will revert to one of its own internal themes and your data would be safe. In addition, Bento simply associates themes with forms so your data it not altered.

If these had come with Bento 2, I might have bought it! I also think someone should come up with an iPhone look-alike theme.

Many thanks for the theme pack, they are so much better than those shipped with Bento…

Would it be possible to modify background color to a dark gray or even black ?

    Hi Alan,
the Shade theme as part of the theme pack is already dark gray. So I don’t know what you mean… Email Patrick from his website directly to request a version in pitch black.

Thank you so much for these themes. I can actually now feel comfortable using Bento. The existing themes are definitely not Apple created!

any idea if these work with Bento3?
i hope so, they look VERY nice!

  10. Florian on January 23rd, 2010 3:47 pm

Yes hunter, I don’t see why not.

Installed and worked fine with Bento 3. Thanks.

Sounds great, hunter. The problem is normally just with templates (and the other way around): don’t use Bento 3 templates in Bento 2.

I wonder if this theme will work with Bento 1?

  14. Florian on June 21st, 2010 1:45 pm

John, off hand I don’t see why not. And I don’t think you can break Bento 1 by just trying it.
