Attention, Bento users: from today on, look for your name in the title of a new post!
Gareth, BentoUsers‘ brand new guest-contributor will make templates for you, even simple ones like this one: Gardening.
Submit your requests as a comment in the article Template Ideas, Please! where Gareth will choose his victim. This time it’s Graham’s request that tickled his fancy.

I will still give tips as well, but Gareth will do the actual work – thanks a bunch, my friend! I like the idea especially because it offers something that the new Filemaker, Inc. Template Exchange does not offer.

Gareth is a MSCE and a CCNA (computer specialists know what this means) and has been working on a Mac for three years. He loves Bento even more, after he found out that its limits can be overcome “… if you are clever and look beyond the problem. Ideas just keep popping into my head!” Gareth, I would like to add that you also have the tenacity to keep trying until you find the right workaround or solution!

Sorry for the short delay of this post.
After some users, including myself, experienced some crashes, Filemaker, Inc. worked hard to fix things. I myself connected with the product manager directly to help. Now the free update has been released:

As I promised you a few weeks ago when I got the insider info, Filemaker, Inc. now launched their own Bento Template Exchange.
Here’s the limited promotional news release:

Dear friend of Bento,

We are preparing to launch the new Bento Template Exchange, and we want you to join us in a special preview.

As you know, Bento helps you organize virtually anything. And thanks to Bento’s capability to export and share templates, the template exchange will feature a wide range of creative and productive real-world uses.

We really want you to share your templates. Starting right now, you are invited to come in, browse around, check out the templates, and most importantly, submit one or many of your templates. You will find clear instructions on how to download and import templates, and how to submit Bento templates for sharing. Your submissions will help assure, when we launch the exchange (later in June), that it is filled with creative and beautiful uses for Bento.

In addition to submitting your templates, you are welcome to browse through the most popular templates, the newest templates, or look through 15 categories including Business, Music and Movies, Finance, and Cooking, Food and Wine. Templates are also searchable by typing a phrase like “soccer team roster.”

Please note that you must use Bento 2 to export or import templates.
